Welcome to my blog! This is my first post ever so hopefully i'm doing it right! I have spent this summer training hard to get prepared for the upcoming season. I currently live and train in Whistler BC, and love everything about it! The gym here is awesome to train at , and there are endless things to do and explore here!
I have been super busy this summer working 3 jobs to support my snowboard career, as well as training full time. This summer has been a big learning experience on how to balance my time with work and training and to still have a little bit of free time! I am excited to see all my hard work pay off once we get back on snow! I spend as much of my free time outside as I can, I love hiking and biking and I spend as much time swimming in the lakes here as possible!
Last weekend I entered the Redbull 400 at Whistler Olympic Park with a couple of friends, it is the steepest 400m race in the world, with 400m of vertical gain and a 37 degree incline all the way up a Ski Jump. The concept is very simple but it was still one of the hardest races I have done! You start off running and as soon as the incline starts you are basically forced to crawl up the mountain because it is so steep! I finished with a time of 8:44, I wasn't one of the fastest, but I am just happy to have finished the race! I am planning on entering it again next year and hopefully my time improves!
